Episode 12: Post-Pandemic Leadership with Jennifer Burrows

• Karl Pister • Season 1 • Episode 12

In this episode, I speak with Jennifer Burrows who is the Chief Executive Officer of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. She talks about reflection as a vital aspect of learning, most especially in the early parts of your career.

We then discuss resolving conflict, which I have seen her handle superbly in the past years that we have worked together. Jennifer shares that the only way through conflict is to find a place where there is compromise. She also mentions how imperative it is to realize that people think differently as they solve problems together.

The highlight of our discussion is her post-pandemic leadership. She speaks about recovery as individuals and as teams. She strongly advocates reviving the human connection that we lost due to the effects of a global pandemic on workplaces.

Finally, Jennifer shares her values of integrity, honesty, compassion, and excellence that guide her leadership. Thank you, Jennifer, for the exemplary leadership through very challenging times!
