Episode 18: Strategy, Transformation, and Alchemy with Dr. Jason Kuhl
In this episode, I speak with Dr. Jason Kuhl, Chief Medical Officer for Providence Medford Medical Center. He shares the lessons he learned from the pandemic and how he leads in such challenging situations. He believes that in order to develop and design a system that works during crisis situations, you need to surround yourself with other leaders who exemplify traits of strategy, transformation, and collaboration. Dr. Kuhl then proceeds to explain what those traits are.
We talk about setting up clinician leaders for success and how imperative it is to provide the training and resources for them to be great leaders. Dr. Kuhl shares insights on how to engage people. He talks about knowing their motivation and creating an improvement plan that focuses on what they are passionate about.
Finally, Dr. Kuhl shares what he wishes he had known earlier in his career that he now continues to learn which is work-life blend.
